Our Windows Server courses
In most companies Windows Server remains the backbone of in-house IT – even where parts of the environment have long been running in the cloud. Active Directory, Group Policy, file and print services, virtualisation and network services must work reliably, be properly documented and be secured against today’s common attack vectors. Our courses are aimed at administrators who run or modernise an existing environment or are moving it to hybrid operation.
The focus is on Active Directory with Windows Server 2025, in-depth Group Policy and GPOs, and the hybrid Microsoft paths AZ-800, AZ-801 and AZ-802. In addition, you will find Group Policy course 50255 and courses on older server generations that are still in production in many environments. All courses work with dedicated lab environments so that you carry out every step yourself instead of just listening.
In this advanced course, you turn your own scripts into reusable tools for your team. You write advanced functions that behave like cmdlets, bundle them into tested modules and distribute them via a repository. This is complemented by robust error handling, connecting to REST APIs, and parallel processing for larger environments.
This course builds on the fundamentals of Windows Server administration and covers the services that support larger, distributed environments. You plan Active Directory across multiple sites, harden Kerberos, LDAP and NTLM, build a PKI with AD CS, deploy file services with DFS, Storage Replica and SMB over QUIC, and run roles highly available in a failover cluster. Finally, you connect your on-premises infrastructure to the cloud via Microsoft Entra ID and Azure Arc.
In three days, you build a virtualisation environment with Hyper-V on Windows Server 2025 – from a single host to a highly available cluster. You configure virtual machines, storage and networking, use GPU partitioning and dynamic processor compatibility, and safeguard operations with live migration, Hyper-V Replica and backup. The exercises use Hyper-V Manager, PowerShell and Windows Admin Center.
IIS 10.0 is the web server in Windows Server 2025 and the foundation of many enterprise applications. You set up websites and application pools, host ASP.NET and ASP.NET Core applications, secure access with authentication, TLS 1.3 and HSTS, manage IIS remotely and with PowerShell, and analyse errors systematically. To finish, you build a web farm with shared configuration.
Desired State Configuration has changed fundamentally with PowerShell 7: the Local Configuration Manager and pull server no longer exist there, while Microsoft DSC v3 describes the desired state across platforms in YAML or JSON documents. You learn which DSC variant to use for which purpose, write your own configurations and resources, and use DSC with WinGet Configuration and Azure Machine Configuration.
This workshop is aimed at anyone who knows Windows Server 2016, 2019 or 2022 and is moving to Windows Server 2025. You plan the upgrade and migration, check deprecated and removed features for their impact, and put the key innovations into practice in exercises – from the new AD functional level and dMSA, through tighter SMB and authentication standards, to GPU partitioning, Network ATC and hotpatch via Azure Arc.
This course focuses on the day-to-day operation of Windows Server 2025. You manage servers with Windows Admin Center, PowerShell and Azure Arc, maintain Active Directory and Group Policy, operate file services, control updates including hotpatch, and monitor, back up and harden your servers. Installation and basic configuration, Advanced Services and Hyper-V are covered in separate courses.
