Course ID: #ENCOR

ENCOR – Implementing and Operating Cisco Enterprise Network Core Technologies

Duration: 5 days Dates: 2 November 2026 8 February 2027 10 May 2027 9 August 2027

The mandatory core exam for CCNP Enterprise and CCIE Enterprise, updated to exam version 350-401 v1.2. You work with enterprise architectures, virtualisation, Layer 2 and Layer 3 infrastructure, network analysis, security and automation. Important: since v1.2, WLAN topics are no longer part of ENCOR – they have moved to the separate CCNP Wireless track. In their place, the automation domain is now called “Automation and Artificial Intelligence”. The course replaces the retired ROUTE, SWITCH and TSHOOT formats. Note: the exam is only available in English and Japanese.

Architecture

  • Design principles in the enterprise network
  • How the Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN solution works
  • How Cisco SD-Access works
  • Reading and evaluating QoS configurations

Virtualisation

  • Device virtualisation technologies
  • Configuring and verifying data path virtualisation
  • Network virtualisation concepts

Infrastructure

  • Layer 2: trunking, EtherChannel, Spanning Tree in the enterprise environment
  • Layer 3: OSPF, EIGRP and BGP working together
  • IP services: NTP, NAT, first-hop redundancy, multicast fundamentals
  • Troubleshooting in the core layer

Network Assurance

  • Diagnostics with debugs, conditional debugs, traceroute, ping, SNMP and syslog
  • Configuring and verifying Flexible NetFlow
  • Setting up SPAN, RSPAN and ERSPAN
  • IP SLA for availability and latency measurement
  • Cisco Catalyst Center for configuration, monitoring and AI-driven workflows
  • Configuring and verifying NETCONF and RESTCONF

Security

  • Securing device access
  • Configuring infrastructure security features
  • REST API security
  • Building blocks of a network security design

Automation and Artificial Intelligence

  • Reading Python scripts and understanding their building blocks
  • Building valid JSON files
  • Data modelling with YANG: principles and benefits
  • Cisco Catalyst Center and SD-WAN Manager APIs
  • Evaluating REST API response codes and payloads
  • EEM applets for configuration, troubleshooting and data collection
  • Agent-based versus agentless orchestration
