This privacy policy describes how CT Academy AG processes personal data when you use our website, contact us, book a course or subscribe to our newsletter. The revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) is the governing law. Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, for example because you are located in the EU, the rights it provides apply in addition.

We process this data in order to provide and invoice our services, to answer enquiries, to operate the website securely and in good working order, to comply with legal obligations (in particular accounting) and to improve our offering. The basis for this is the performance of a contract, your consent (newsletter, audience measurement), a legal obligation or our overriding legitimate interest in a secure and comprehensible online presence.
Necessary cookies enable basic functions such as navigation, shopping basket, login and language selection. They are required for operation and cannot be deselected. We set all other cookies, in particular those used for audience measurement, only after you have given your consent via the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time via the banner or by deleting the cookies in your browser. A withdrawal takes effect for the future.
We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 in order to understand which content is searched for and used. Both services are loaded only once you have given your consent in the cookie banner. Without consent, no measurement takes place.
The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. In this context, data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its Swiss extension as well as on standard contractual clauses. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes truncated IP addresses as well as information on page views, device and approximate location. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
Our website uses Jetpack from Automattic Inc., 60 29th Street #343, San Francisco, CA 94110, USA. Jetpack provides statistics on page views, protects against login attacks, creates backups, delivers images and videos via a content delivery network and provides contact and newsletter forms. In this context, the IP address, browser information and the data you enter into forms are processed and stored in the USA. The basis for this is standard contractual clauses. To prevent spam in forms, we use Akismet from the same provider.
Images are delivered via the content delivery network of Optimole so that pages load more quickly. We serve the fonts from our own server. No connection to Google Fonts is established and no IP address is transmitted to Google.
For distribution we use Mailchimp from Intuit Inc., 2700 Coast Avenue, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Your e-mail address is stored there until you unsubscribe. Every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link; an informal message to us is equally sufficient. Mailchimp analyses whether messages are opened and links are clicked so that we can improve topics and the time of dispatch. The basis for the transfer to the USA is standard contractual clauses.
We handle bookings via WooCommerce on our own website. Payment is made against invoice, that is, by bank transfer. We do not collect credit card details. For accounting purposes we retain invoices and business records for ten years, as required by Swiss law.
The website is operated at Infomaniak Network SA, Rue Eugène-Marziano 25, 1227 Les Acacias, Switzerland. The servers are located in Switzerland. Infomaniak processes data exclusively on our behalf.
We disclose personal data only in so far as this is necessary for the provision of our services or is required by law. Recipients are in particular the service providers named above, and also trainers and examination providers where a course or a certification requires this, as well as fiduciaries and banks for invoicing purposes. Disclosures to countries without an equivalent level of data protection, in particular to the USA, are based on standard contractual clauses or on recognised adequacy decisions. A complete list of our processors is available on request.
We retain personal data for as long as is necessary for the respective purpose: enquiries as a rule for two years, customer and course data for the duration of the business relationship, invoice records for ten years, newsletter data until you unsubscribe, server logs for a few months. Thereafter the data is deleted or anonymised.
You have the right to information about the data processed about you, to rectification, erasure and restriction of processing, to the release or transfer of your data, and to object to processing. You may withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. To do so, please contact us at info@ct-academy.ch. In order to verify your identity, we may request proof of identity.
If you do not agree with our response, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). Where the processing falls under the GDPR, you additionally have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
The website is encrypted throughout by means of TLS, recognisable by the padlock in the address bar. Access to customer data is restricted to the employees responsible for it, and backups are stored in encrypted form. No one can guarantee absolute security; we follow the current state of the art.
We will amend this privacy policy if our processing or the services we use change. The version published here at any given time is the governing one.
